I am super excited about our progress and plans of moving forward! Things are really falling into place! Please remember to keep everything we do in your prayers so we remember to keep Him as the foundation and purpose of everything we do.
Bill Foster will be bringing the message this Sunday, August 1st. We are planning to keep the time at 8:30 this Sunday and for the remaining Sundays for the month of August, because Tim Whaley is planning to bring us the message for the rest of the month of August. His message Sunday was great and I'm really looking forward to hearing from Bill Foster this Sunday.
Please read chapters 7 & 8 of "The Simple Church" book for Sunday. Aleigha will continue leading us in our book study discussions. These discussions are very important in the development of our simple process for moving people from visiting church to having a closer relationship with God! I get so excited thinking about what I know we can offer for our community that is very hard to find elsewhere in our area.
See you Sunday!

Sunday, July 25th
We have arranged to have Bro. Tim Whaley for our service on Sunday, July 25th. In order for him to speak to us and then make it to his church, we will need to move our start time back to 8:30 for this service. Please help get the word out about the change for Sunday. Following the church service, we will continue the book study of "Simple Church" by discussing chapters 5 and 6.
Also, for anyone that is able to help on Saturday, July 24th, Kevin and Tim will begin working on the building. I know this is the same day as Payton Day and many will be attending it, but if you are available, they are planning to get there as early as 7:00 to begin work. How exciting!! =)

Sunday, July 18th
Just a reminder that church services will be held Sunday, July 18th @ 9:00. We will have praise and worship at 9:00 and at 10:00, we will continue our discussion of the book "Simple Church"-Chapter 4. Plans are still being made for the children and I will send out an update with this information when I receive it. We are planning to keep the service time at 9:00 in the upcoming weeks to remain consistent unless we see a need to change. As we move forward, please remember to stay in prayer about all decisions and progress. Be thinking of any ideas you have for a name for our church as we will try to decide on something in the near future. Several have tossed the idea of OneFifty Ministry or OneFifty Outreach Ministry around. If you have other ideas, please let everyone know. I look forward to seeing everyone Sunday as we continue making progress in our mission field!

Message from Mary & JoJo
I won't be at the services for the next 2 weeks b/c of family vacation and a conference. I will miss it horribly, and I know that summer plans sort of throw all of us off. Jo and I know, though, that Sunday is a big day in the life of this church. I wanted to share that my thoughts for quite a few weeks have rested ...on the word "Cornerstone". Looking it up tonight, I was searching for biblical references of this word and I was led to Ephesians 2:19-22. "The Message" says it in awesome, everyday language (NIV is good, too) and reads (see below):
"You're no longer wandering exiles. This kingdom of faith is now your home country. You're no longer strangers or outsiders. You BELONG here, with as much right to the name Christian as anyone. God is building a home. He's using us all - irrespective of how we got here - in what He is building. He used the apostl...es and prophets for the foundation. Now He's using you, fitting you brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the CORNERSTONE that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day - a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home." awesome!!!! I love and pray for God to be glorified in every single thing that we do....

Our Mission Field
~What you do today will echo through eternity.~
God has given us an unique opportunity. We have a mission field right here in our very own hometown. It doesn't look like what we've all been used to nor does it feel like what we've all been used to when it comes to church vs. a real relationship with God. Taking a step of faith to reach out to others as we all grow closer in our own walk with God requires us to step outside of our comfort zone. As long as God remains at the foundation of everything we do and we give our whole heart in it, we can make a tremendous difference in the lives of so many people we encounter each day without ever stepping foot outside of Roanoke, AL. This is our misssion field and I am very excited about our future!!
We are not planning to meet for church this Sunday due to July 4th. Take this weekend to enjoy time with your families and to catch up on some relaxation. We plan to meet again at the same location (building beside LaHerradura) on July 11th at 8:30 and are tentatively planning to have Bro. Tim Whaley bring us a message if this can be arranged. We are also planning to have a committment service following and to bring forth suggestions for a group of 7 to be a leadership committee to lead us forward in our progress. Please be in prayer about these things as we want to continue to follow God's will in everything we do.
If there are any changes, I will send out an email with updates. If you were one of the ones that did not receive this update last week for some reason, please reply to me and let me know that you got it. Thanks.
Have a wonderful Fourth of July weekend!!!

Seek His will...
"To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did. When God takes something from your grasp, He's not punishing you but merely opening your hands to receive something better. The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you."
Wow! The future looks bright and I'm so excited about our possible location and where we are possibly headed! We would like for everyone to take this week to pray for direction to make sure that we are aligning with God's will. This is a vital part of moving forward. We all want to make sure we are following God's plan and that we are putting Him first in everything we do. Please pray open heartedly for direction of His will.
Also, please begin to brainstorm, pray, and reflect about a possible name if we feel led to continue moving forward. We want to think of something that will embrace and portray the very things that we all desire in order to be able to grow closer to God. Please seek His guidance as we move forward in this new adventure.
We plan to meet again next Sunday, June 27th at 9:00 at the same location as today (beside LaHerradura). We will discuss what God has laid on your heart and collaborate about our next steps.
Looking forward to seeing everyone then!
P.S. Please remember to bring chairs. :)
